Open Terminal and type
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow DesktopPicture '/Path/To/Picture.jpg'
Enter your password, log out and you should see the changes.
Prevent the creation of .DS_Store files on Network volumes in MacOS:
- Open the Terminal application from the Utilities folder which is nested in the Applications folder
- In the newly opened terminal type (all on one line)
defaults write com.apple.desktopservices DSDontWriteNetworkStores true
- Restart the computer for the change to take effect
If you do not see you network-printer do this:
Edit /etc/cups/cupsd.conf and look for the following lines:
# Show shared printers on the local network. Browsing On BrowseOrder allow,deny BrowseAllow all
